Jaguar Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the exclusive importer of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Malaysia has launched the new all-aluminium Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé and it’s one hell of a ‘cat’. Available in two variants, the range-topping F-TYPE R Coupé is powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine in 550PS/680Nm tune, delivering acceleration of 100 km/h in 4.2-seconds, and a top speed of 300 km/h (electronically limited).  It is priced at RM1,158,888 in Peninsular Malaysia (on the road, excluding insurance). Meanwhile, the F-TYPE S Coupé, powered by Jaguar’s 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine with a maximum power output of 380PS and torque of 460Nm, takes only 4.9 seconds to complete the 0 – 100 km/h sprint and can reach a top speed of 275 km/h.  It retails at RM899,888 in Peninsular Malaysia (on the road, excluding insurance).

Both the F-TYPE R and F-TYPE S feature Jaguar’s eight-speed close-ratio Quickshift transmission which is optimised for sporting performance, with full manual sequential control from the central SportShift selector or steering wheel-mounted paddles.

To tell a R from an S is easy; from the front, you’ll see a small ‘S’ or ‘R’ emblem on the grille. From the sides, the difference is in the rim design. The top of the R is a panoramic roof and finally at the rear, you’ll find quad-pipes in the ‘R’ vs two in the center for the ‘S’.

With the new Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé’s body being made from a single piece aluminium pressing, it is easily one of the best looking sports vehicle around and shall be one of the most desirable coupes around our era. All that matters is to find the moolah to afford to buy one.

You can probably find better sources of technical specifications elsewhere if you dig long enough in the internet as this blog talks about the real life ramifications of who, what, where, when and why of the automotive world and focuses on relevant information to potential buyers.
