Check out Kia’s latest birth, the Kia Pro-cee’d which is essentially a sportier, 2 door version of a regular Cee’d, which, if you didn’t know already is a car that shares the same platform as the Kia Forte/Cerato. It’s immediate cousin in Hyundai is the i30 which is sold here in Malaysia (see picture below)

Unfortunately, the Cee’d is not available here in Malaysia …. probably due to a few reasons such as our not-so-favorable tax structure may push this car’s price up and the Cee’d sits somewhere between a Rio and a Forte where, when the Rio is launched, the introduction of another vehicle with a price scale somewhere in between may cannibalize the bread-and-butter Forte numbers which is an important model for NazaKia since they CKD it.
Still, looking at these Pro-cee’d pictures, one can hope Naza can introduce a limited number …

We don’t know what’s going to power this baby but based on the size, I won’t be surprised to find Kia loading the Hyundai Veloster Turbo’s 1.6litre T-GDI engine that dishes out close to 200hp and 264Nm of torque at 1,500rpm onwards to 4,500rpm. Century sprint would take around 8 seconds to a top speed of 213kph.

The transmission could be a 6 speed automatic or manual and I would also expect the suspension to be tuned firmer too.

Inside, it’s buttons everywhere!

.

.

Now, between a Veloster and a Pro-cee’d, which would you choose?
