Every once in a while, some manufacturers would launch a special edition with a specific goal in mind  (except for Perodua which seem to spawn Alza variants as often as durian varieties). Whether it’s clearing stocks, testing the market or to simply reward fans by giving them a chance to own a limited version of their favorite model, SEs often come with extra bits that gives that feel good factor like putting on expensive cologne/perfume. One of the latest that will greet us very soon is the Peugeot 308 Griffe edition. In case you didn’t know, “Griffe” is in French and it means claw.

.

.

Let’s look at the differences compared to a standard 308THP:

.

.

Bi-xenon, directional and smoked headlamps. Finally, the headlamp that looks like the 308FL brochure.

.

.

.

Carbon fibre “effect” bodykit

.

.

17″ Dark Stromboli alloy rims

.

.

Side Griffe badges

.

.

.

.

Red stitching, red stitching and … look, more red stitching.

.

.

.

Semi leather – semi fabric seats

.

No change in the engine department as you’d still get the 1.6litre turbo high-pressure Prince engine mated to a 6 speed auto adaptive gearbox with tiptronic and sport mode so it should drive pretty much like what I wrote earlier about the standard 308T (article found HERE)

.

For all the differences, all you need is to pay a paltry sum of RM132,888 … a good RM11,000 more than a standard 308T. Worth it or otherwise, you decide …. personally, I would have hoped there is a numbered plaque for each of these limited Princesses. Might not mean much but at least I get a better feel good factor knowing I’m in car number XX of 308. And feeling good can be priceless.

looks good. The interior leather looks especially nice, with it’s cool red stitching.

    But I think sales are falling…rarely seen a new 308, 3008 & 5008 anymore. Surviving on 508s and 408s only..Hope Pug can bounce back with the 208

Griffe in this context would mean Signature Edition no?

i just bought my griffe yesterday. going for final service center diagnose, this n that process, puspakom for reg no. interchange and JPJ. my adrenalin rush today when i went for 2nd test drive (1st time i was not yet sure to get it, so i just casually took it for test drive). confidence growing sitting in it. not yet. when the Turbo push in sport mode. what is this ?! what an acceleration. yet still smooth. my father 2.0Turbo volvo pun couldn’t catch up la mcm ni. hha. never thought i bought a diamond instead of Honda City. Cancelled City last week for being so late. waited for 4 months n still delayed to Dec. bye bye City. waiting for refund. 308TG, What a Car.
