The new 2014 Range Rover Evoque – launched

Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has launched the new 2014 Range Rover Evoque with enhanced features – all set to lure and entice Land Rover lovers and customers in the premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. If you’ve missed our earlier review of the Evoque, check it out HERE)

The Range Rover Evoque was first introduced in 2011 and the rest, as they say, is history with 124,292 and 105,648 units in 2013 and 2012, finding new homes from the factory. Since the introduction of the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Malaysia has also charted impressive growth with 1,003 units registered in 2013, the best ever sales achieved since 1997 when Land Rover Malaysia’s sales figures were boosted by the legendary Defender, the “staple” four wheel vehicle used by the armed forces and the police.

So what’s new compared to the unit we reviewed a year ago?

• 9-speed automatic transmission (up from the previous 6-speed) which promises smoother driving, better fuel economy and enhanced all-round performance.
• Keyless entry
• Perpendicular Parking, Exit Parking and Parallel Parking – handsfree operation to avoid anymore bumper-scraping ‘Uh uh!’ moments when getting in and out of a parking lot.
• Surround camera for added safety and manoeuvrability.

Mr. Syed Mudzhar Syed Ali, the Managing Director of LRM, is optimistic that the enhanced version of the Range Rover Evoque will be well received by the market. “The Range Rover Evoque has been a game changer for the Land Rover brand in Malaysia. With this enhanced new 2014 Range Rover Evoque, we are confident that we will continue to win a significant market share in the premium SUV segment,” he said.

Nothing has changed in terms of variants; Buyers of the new 2014 Evoque have a choice of 5-door or 3-door coupe. The 5-door Evoque comes with two power trains: 2.0L Petrol variant and 2.2L Diesel variant. 3-door Evoque coupe is available in 2.0L Petrol variant.

The new 2014 Range Rover Evoque is being offered by Land Rover Malaysia from RM399,888 and while the new 2014 Range Rover Evoque Coupe from RM419,888. Every Range Rover Evoque comes with 5 years or 300,000km of warranty and 5 years or 80,000km of free scheduled maintenance.
